The Rimrock Resort Hotel
Unsurpassed style, sleek and classic decor, and a setting that appears to be fashioned out of millions and millions of picture perfect postcards are all great reasons to stay at Banff’s Rimrock Resort Hotel, but this AAA-rated, Four Diamond hotel has much more to offer.
A concierge service that pays a fanatical degree of attention to the needs and wants of its guests, insures that visitors to the Rimrock Resort Hotel will have an unforgettable experience, and one which is bound to keep them coming back year after year. As an example, their concierge service guarantees overnight tuning for their guests’ skis and snow boards. The hotel also offers complimentary access to Banff’s public transport service, Roam, from the resort to downtown Banff. The hotel itself is situated on Sulphur Mountain, in the heart of Banff National Park and just a five-minute drive from Banff town centre.
About the Area
Banff attracts multiple millions of visitors each and every year. Some come for the golf — there are five courses in the area, and the hotel will happily arrange tee times for its visitors. Many come for the skiing and snow boarding on the fluffy powder that is virtually guaranteed every winter on the slopes of Nakiska, Sunshine Village, Kicking Horse River resort, and many others. The Rimrock Resort Hotel is literally within steps of the world famous Banff Upper Hot Springs, where bathers can enjoy the hot sulphur pools year round, while at the same time enjoying jaw-dropping views of the majestic Rocky Mountains that surround the entire area.
The hotel can also arrange and book activities such as horseback riding on mountain trails, heli-hiking, white water rafting tours, fishing trips, gondola rides, dog sled rides, and even heli-skiing adventure outings. Couple that with the beautiful art galleries, boutiques, shops and museums lining the streets of picturesque Banff Village, and it becomes clear that, in Banff, the words “there’s something for everyone” is not a cliché, it’s an understatement!
The Rimrock Resort Hotel boasts no less than 346 rooms, all non-smoking, divided into four distinct categories. All are large by hotel standards; the Standard Room starts at a generous 350 square feet, and include 32-inch widescreen LCD televisions and one king or two queen beds. Views from these rooms are slightly obstructed by trees or other parts of the building.
The other room types are Deluxe Rooms, offering beautiful views of Rundle Mountain or Mount Norquay; Premium Rooms, with unspoilt views of Bow or Spray Valleys, and finally the Grandview Classic and Grandview Elegance Rooms. Guests staying in Grandview Rooms enjoy 15% off food and beverage purchases at Rimrock Resort, as well as complimentary valet parking, and, as their names suggest, the most spectacular Rocky Mountain or valley views imaginable.
Guests at the Rimrock Resort Hotel also have full access to the famous Rimrock Spa, as well as the indoor pool, sauna and whirlpool. Need more vigorous exercise? Ok, there’s also a state of the art fitness centre, and indoor squash courts. As part of the service, certified instructors are available for personal training sessions or lifestyle consultations. As always, the hotel is happy to arrange an appointment to suit. The fitness centre and pool areas are open from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily, and the spa’s hours generally run from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., but are subject to change, so please check in advance of a visit.
